Pastor Jim & Rhonda Johnson, Senior Pastors
Pastor Jim and Rhonda have been leading the congregation of Brighton Assembly for over 13 years. They have a deep, sincere love for the Lord and actively encourage and invest in the lives of our congregation and community. Pastor Jim graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with degrees in religion and education and he holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and a K-12 Administration Certificate from the State of Arizona. He brings to the church a wealth of experience in the area of pastoral ministry.

Ordained as a minister in the Assemblies of God since 1975, Pastor Jim pastored several churches in Arizona before moving to Missouri in 1997. He has led the expansion of Brighton Assembly from approximately 5,000 square feet to over 50,000 square feet and a beginning congregation of 35 people to a church called home by more than 700 individuals.

Rhonda Johnson is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's Degree in Education K-8.  She also holds a Master's degree in Education from Northern Arizona University.  Rhonda taught in the public school system for almost two decades before retiring in the spring of 2010.  She is an accomplished motivational, retreat, and seminar speaker who has travelled extensively throughout the country.  After retiring from teaching she joined the staff at Brighton Assembly and has become an integral part of the vision for Brighton and all the ministries.  About a year ago she developed a ministry for women over the age of 49 called the TASC Force.

Pastor Mark & Sandie Cross, Assistant Pastor & Children's Pastors

Mark and Sandie Cross have been involved with the Children's Ministries at Brighton for more than five years.  Mark previously served as a Board Member and Sandie as the Children's Sunday School Superintendent and Missions Director.  In the summer of 2010, Mark came on staff as the Assistant Pastor and later as the Children's Pastor. With a love for children and hunting Mark is often referred to as Brighton's Daniel Boone.  If you are looking for Mark around campus, follow the trail of children and you will find him. Sandie is part of the Women's Ministry team and you will probably see her not too far away from her grandson, Jaxson.  She works  at Assemblies of God headquarters and serves as the Executive Assistant to the World Missions Director.  Mark and Sandie live in Morrisville and have three grown children and one grandson.

Pastor Steve & Marlisa Schroeder, Teaching Pastors


Steve & Marlisa have been with Brighton Assembly in a Pastoral role for more than ten years.  Steve works full-time at Loveall Custom Sheet Metal as the shop foreman and Marlisa works full-time at American National Property and Casualty Insurance as a manager of software development. They have two daughters, Ellie and Carly, who both attend Pleasant Hope Schools. Steve is an avid bow hunter and enjoys fishing. Some of their favorite family activities are camping and going to Silver Dollar City.

Pastor Brent & Melissa Hurt, Youth Pastors

Brent & Melissa Hurt have been a part of the Brighton Assembly church family for 3 1/2 years. They have been serving as youth pastors of Brighton for 2 years. Brent is an ordained minister and they were commissioned as National U.S. Missionaries with the Assemblies of God in 2003. They currently serve with Rural Compassion. Brent graduated from Evangel University with a degree in Business and Melissa graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary Education.
